It would be very interesting if a tournament was held in Philadelphia. A big tournament. The kind of thing that would equal the likes of the Meadville Tournament, the McMichigan Cup Tournament, the Empire Cup, the Mount St. Charles Tournament, or the Nike Bauer National Invitational Tournament. Something that had all the flavor and excitement of the Minnesota State Tournament, tradition that continues year after year, and something the mainstream Philadelphia press would have to cover. Why not invite the previous years state champions from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland? Call it the Atlantic Cup and throw in one or two local teams as hosts. That would be exciting.

I have thought about something like this before, but I was thinking along the lines of a Hockey Night in Boston type thing. I think it should start small in an easily accessible area. Something like the class of '23 rink on Penn's campus. If it takes off, then maybe move to a bigger venue.
Better hurry the Class of 23 rink is being torn down.
Penn's official position is they haven't made a decision yet but on all their plans the class of 23 is gone.
You would think Ice Line would love to have a thing like this...
There is a tournament of this nature held in Jamestown, NY -- National Invitational Scholastic Showcase - tournament was in early December this year. Jeff Mauro (Pittsburgh) is one of the organizers I believe
