Defensemen Receive Praise In The Star-Ledger

The Star-Ledger on nj.com has heaped praise on the role defensemen play in high school hockey noting that they "shoulder much of a team's hopes in the state playoffs and cup tournaments," while receiving great blame when things go wrong and little credit when things go right. It was explained that having one or two particularly strong defensemen can control a game much in the way having a star goalie would. St. Peter's Prep Head Coach Joe Maione went one step farther saying, "I think it's the hardest position to play..."
